What is Albacete's Fair? For those who are still wondering it, Albacete's fair takes place every year from the 7th to the 17th September. It is an unique fair in Spain, unknown to many and that surprises and makes all who tread it want to repeat. Party at day and night. For young folks and not so young. With friends or family. A fair for everyone.

1500 km separate me from my beloved Albacete. I miss many things from my land, but not being able to fully enjoy our fair is certainly the one that fills me with sadness the most. Since I live in Paris I have not skipped a year, but I have been able to enjoy it only in small doses. At least, I have had the best of the company. Thanks to all who help me overcome the distance. To those who contribute in making my days in Albacete so intense that they will always be engraved in my memory. And in my camera...

Un nuevo objetivo en mente/// A new objetive in my mind

--------------

It's a long time since the last time I wrote something here. Life has been a little complicated these months. All the plans I had when I started this period of my career have been tore but, even if my head is still a real mess, I have taken a big decision.

I have been living in Paris almost 3 years now and, even if I love it, I am so homesick I can't bear it. I gonna avoid talking about politics and economy, but they both have had an enormous influence in the way I feel and have made more difficult to take this decision. Maybe it's the biggest mistake of my career. Maybe it's the better choice I have ever made. We'll see. But my time in Paris is reaching its end. Of course, time in my life has always been relative, and the my return deadline is not round the corner. I still don't know what the future has on store for me, but the process has begun and now is just a matter of time (and luck).

Not your Kind of People

Only happy when it rains”.

-------

It has been necessary 17 years so I could enjoy them live. I was 14 when “Garbage” released their first record and I was captivated by their music listening to "Only happy when it rains". Although it has taken 7 years to have another album, staunches always have been waiting patiently for it. And the wait… worth it. "Not your kind of people" makes Garbage to come back to its origins in the best possible way and make us bury more deeply if possible the dispensable "Beatifulgarbage" and their mediocre "Bleed like me". We return to the metal guitars of their first album and the post-grunge of "Version 2.0". A pleasure for their fans.

And what about Shirley Manson (the woman who inspired me to dye my hair red for the first time). Great on stage, she gave us the best of herself for almost two hours of concert. B+ for this "revival" style concert.

------

The red carpet is spread before us at the "Machine du Moulin Rouge". Turn off the lights. Thousands of blinding flashes: it is the night of the "Bal de l'Elysée Montmartre".

The Bal was born in January 1995 and is a transgressive mix between a ball and a themed party that attracts people from all backgrounds, universes and social categories.

It owes its success to a philosophy that goes against the tide of current trends, offering live music and entertainment. An orchestra that plays songs of Joe Dassin, Serge Gainsbourg, Edith Piaf, Sex Pistols, Les Rita Mitsouko, Chuck Berry, the Beatles, Abba… that, for the nostalgic (like me) is an unique repertoire.

The great Orchestra of the Elysée Montmartre, browse the Revival to our delight, big kids, happy to be at this party halfway between a open air festiva and 70's party.

This is my second "Bal", this time devoted to cinema. This time without heels... much better. Good music and best company, what more can you ask for?

Picnics bajo la lluvia /// Picnics under the rain

-----
Spring has not arrived to Paris yet. A raining day after another, and each one is even more depressing. I want to return to "les pique-niques parisiennes" (at day and nighttime), those evenings of beers in Montmartre, the days strolling the parks in the city, those Sundays visiting the outdoor museums... I want to spend spare time lying on the grass without thinking about anything and I want to burn my nose while sightseeing Paris. I want spring to arrive. Am I asking too much?

Well, otherwise, I'll always have the picnics under the rain...

----
Rainy weekend in Paris, what better than spending Saturday afternoon at the Cinematheque seeing Tim Burton exhibition? Therefore, that's what we thought and there we headed, without skip-the-line-ticket or anything...into the wild. As my friend Miguel told: "I don't think there will be much line. The exhibition started in March and lasts until August, so...". Thankfully that was pouring rain if not...2 hours later, we managed to enter.

Pasen y vean.
----
For Tim Burton's films lovers, this exhibition is a must: sketches, prototypes, poems, films and shorts of his youth... is like stepping into the laboratory of a modern Dr. Frankenstein, gothic and surreal. It's like seeing a little of what there is in his head. And ladies and gentlemen... is worth the trouble. Step right up!

We are scientists

A la pregunta: ¿Sois músicos? yo respondí: "No, we're scientist".

There are little more than ten days left to a group of mindless 32 people head to Japan. As we have bought the Japan Rail tickets (which comes to be something like the Japanese Interrail) to a Paris Agency and it catches me about:), yesterday I went to collect them. When I arrived at the Agency and asked for the 32 passes, the boy gave them to me slowly, and I noticed that he wanted to ask me something and wasn't sure that could. At the end, he fronted it and told me: "Sorry, can I ask you a question?: why are 32 people going to Japan together? Are you musicians?" I do not know why it came to my mind that the name of the band We Are Scientists came out when the three components were at a point of car rental and employee, after looking them up and down, asked if they were scientists. So then, what I did was just the opposite. To the question: are you musicians? I replied: "No, were scientist".

There are only three weeks left to leave course to the country of the rising sun. When Chiqui proposed this trip last year we were left with the desire to, it was a very sweet candy, but our economy did not allow it. Unfortunately, something happened that not only frustrated this journey, but cut short the lives of more than 15000 people and changed the life of 127 million Japanese. Today, a year later, the whole world commemorates this day and regrets that this tsunami reached the coast of Japan. This post is my small grain of sand so that the memory of the victims of the tsunami of March 11 will not be forgotten.
However life goes on, and although there are trains that only pass once in life, this one has passed twice, and, in this last one, we have taken it. We must enjoy every day, because we do not know what the future has in store for us.
Hanami is a Japanese tradition which consists in contemplating the beauty of the flowers. Fortunately for us, the Japanese sakura is approaching and at that time we will be there. So, we will be able to participate in this ancestral tradition in some Tokyo Park. In my head, this song sounds...Cherry Blossom girl- Air

Un año más/// One more year

It has been one year since my first post in this blog and many things have changed since then. The first one it’s me. The things I've experienced during this last year have made me change, and have taught me to appreciate what I have in my life. Every day of these 366 have confirmed to me that, even at more than 1500 km from home, I have people that will always be by my side. People who loves me and supports me despite the circumstances, despite the time, despite the distance. I know that I am living something very special and that this experience is enriching me and making me grow, but at the same time it is still very hard. This year I have lost major supports among my Parisian family, but I also have gained others which are becoming fundamental. Thanks to all, here and there. Those still here and those who have already gone, although still very present. To each and every one, I want to tell you that, despite the difficulties that either bind us together or separate us, I thank you that you are always there. I love you all.
